Coconut palms grow near the ocean. Their husks are saturated with sodium that binds deep inside the fiber. Rinsing only removes loose salts — the bound ions stay.

Each 500g brick expands 5–7x when soaked in 3–4L warm water for 15–20 minutes.

What's the difference between washing and buffering?▼

Washing removes surface salts. Buffering chemically displaces sodium bound deep inside the fiber via cation exchange with calcium and magnesium ions.

Do I need Cal-Mag supplements?▼

No. Our coir is pre-buffered with Ca and Mg at the factory. Ready to use from the package.
